Hello from Uncruliar

Hello Smile

I've never LARP'ed before but I have done quite a bit of tabletop FRP. Recently I have begun to introduce my children to tabletop FRP and for various reasons began to think about LARPing with my middle little person.

After a bit of browsing I was beginning to think it would be a no-no as he is only 11 and most groups don't seem to welcome little people. Sad Then I discovered Dragon Lore! Big Grin

I sent a form submission from the website and Amanda / Buffy suggested that I might like to post on the forums. I'm looking at hopefully coming to an event in September/October/November. Can't be sure which as yet as I coach a football team and I haven't got a fixture list yet. I'm sure I will post again when I know my availability but thought I would just say hello for now.

RE: Hello from Uncruliar

Cool & Welcome.
Yeah little ones are welcome mine is only a toddler!
don't expect them to get much sleep though hahahahahaha.... Yeah its great fun and far better than the table tops stuff. Only started Larp this year and have met some wonderful people and made loads of friends. I know what you mean about other systems not welcoming little ones. DLL is different to them although if you get a chance you might wanna try one of the adult events too... they are great fun.
Im John/Tom by the way. I tend to play the bad guy a lot but am trying to be good....lol My characters tend not to last that long...
If you can't make an event sooner then you could always join in on some of the stories running on the forum. Thats a great way to introduce any character you want to play and their history.
There is a lot to take in if you are new to LARP but don't worry about it you will soon get used to everything. DLL is far more relaxed than some other systems.
See you in September then, I hope :-)

Characters:

Ranima - Feline (Neko Tribe)
Wreck - Skaven
Catahecassa Wynra - Skunk
Ufḉek - Changling Tiger/Moogle
OOC - Tom

If I want to do that should I create a character using the automatic character generator on the main website before posting in one of the the stories in the forum?

RE: Hello from Uncruliar

Hmmm... you could do. I don't usually bother until I go to an event then work out what I have. I suppose if you are gonna use some skills in the story it might be worth stating the character up. Not something I am good at...lol

RE: Hello from Uncruliar

Just had fixtures for eldest son's football team, I'm the manager, and all your dates from now to December clash with football matches. Second son is extremely disappointed as he really wants me to take him LARPing. When will you be publishing dates for 2011? Hope we can get along sometime.
