The small glade lies deep within the forest...... Trees edge the entire space with just the small ruins where once the remote hunters hut had stood.....

Work had been swift.. ensuring a defensible position had been Asar's main aim and his men had worked well for him. It was regrettable that most had not survived the recent skirmishes..... The stoackade now ringed the entire area creating a formidable line of defence should their location be discovered...and he was sure that eventually it would.......

Erecting the tents to provide shelter had been a risk deemed worth taking....the large tent now used as a mess and general gathering area provided a good focus for the camp...there was always someone in there to spend a few minutes in idle chat...a few minutes where one could perhaps forget the evil that crept across the land.......If no-one else was around one could always listen to Arry an Tey for entertainment....they always seemed able to bring a smile to a face even in the most dier circumstances.......and their cooking was palatable enough.........

Poking the small fire Asar stood up looking around.....the guards sat in the shadows close to the gate...he could tell they were talking but obviously quietly as no sounds reached his ears....good.....for these lands were treacherous....

Mulling over the recent activity's...Jarrod....a strange fellow but seemingly trustworthy....and he knew the area...always a bonus........Asar wondered how he was fairing on his mission........a small smile touched Asar's lips...it would indeed be a boon if he was successful.......

A sudden movemen to the edge of his sight and a mischeivious giggle reached his ears....eyes flicking quickly to the guards who had drawn their weapons silently....he gestures to them.....just wait...unless they cause trouble they are not to be harmed....they had enough enemies already....his order stood and he knew his men would not deviate from it.....

A sudden crash of movement somewhere in the trees off to the left.....alert eyes tracing the permiter of the camp looking for the source........a scream.......a snarl.... a yelp....silence.......

Asar became aware of his heart pounding in his chest.....locals referred to them as Pourra.....he had not seen one and he hoped he did not...or at least that if he did it was in time to defend himself........

Moving amongst the few men that remained he sighed.....he would need to recruit once more to the cause.......the price was often high but those willing to join were usually prepared to risk everything.......

Checking in tents as he went...checking on the young ones that now lay sleeping under heavy furs and leathers...their faces peaceful....dreams taking them away from this harsh land.......his hand closed on the item in his pocket....he hoped not to have to utilise it and risk any of them but if the need became great..........

Looking up to a new sound he saw the guards move out to meet some newcomers.....would these be willing to join the cause...willing to stand against Mordens troops.......would they be strong enough........
Close to the temple the rough shod troops erected their camp with efficiency...

Their general overseeing the procedure meant no mistakes were made...no time lost....

Scouts were sent to watch the temple and explore the immediate area...orders stood not to enter the temple...not yet....

Tiadight stood overlooking the operation...sword in hand...his troops knew that failure brokered no second chance from him.....harsh but it kept them working as one..mostly.......

Reports from the scryers pinpoint this area to be the location of the item they sought.but they could not narrow it down any further than within the surrounding forest and plain........yet somewhere here lays the item that could secure their success........secure the return of his master........

A smug grin crept onto his face as the final tents went up and a fire was kindled close by.......

"Someone get some food!.....Scouts I want reports on any possible location of the item we seek........fast!".........
In the forest on the way to the camp.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keeping up a fast pace, JD feels he is making good time, still ensuring he is leaving a visible trail. Spying a stream up ahead JD thinks to himself this is a good time to rest.

Squatting down by the stream he plunges his hands into the ice cold water, splashing his face to cool himself down. He feels the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. Something is not quite right about the forest tonight. Drinking from the stream he keeps himself alert.
*Ahead of the rest of the company a singular dark elf is relaxing, camouflaged in the shadows of the trees next to the river, after quite a long journey venturing out after herbs for her craft.

As soon as she hears another’s approach she slowly shifts herself into a standing position, her hand falling to her dagger in anticipation of trouble however she does not draw. The Dark elf stands silently as a male slightly further upstream appears, she hesitates for a second then walks as quietly as possible to get a better look at him, and asses how much of a threat he is.

Feeling reasonably precarious with her shield slung upon her back and her hammer in her belt, hardly accessible silently, she approaches. She is dressed in a silky black and red corset, just showing from the depths of her midnight blue cloak, a short black ruffled skirt with long tendrils of ragged black material flowing down to the floor. Her boots, simple black leather. Though what is really quite noticeable about her is the copper green tabard scrunched up and tucked in one side of her belt. What hair that can be seen under her hood is a pure white, she silently watches JD until he addresses her, now she is perfectly visible.*
Swallowing a refreshing mouthful of cold clear water and without turning his head, JD speaks out in a loud but calm voice. "My lady, please relax, I mean you now ill, please approach if you wish."

He then stands slowly, pulling his hood back off his head. He turns towards the newcomer, immediately noticing the pure white hair under her hood and the dark skin he realises he is addressing a dark elf. With a gentle but respectful bow of his his head and his hands held palm out to show he is unarmed, he asks.
"I have not seen one such as yourself for a very long time and I welcome you to share some water or if you prefer I have some something that is maybe a little stronger within my pack?"
*Her hand remains on the hilt of her dagger, as she calmly steps forward, her manner non aggressive but still containing a deep root of dominace. She ignores his comment on relaxing. She pauses about a meter or so away from him her blue-grey eyes looking him up and down, then gives a slight incline of her head in return to the bow.

She looks a little hesitent to reply at first but then in a reasonibly hushed voice she replies*

" I think I may go for the something stronger."

*she gives JD a soft smile and moves her hand away from her dagger hilt, and also removes her hood, reveeling long white hair scraped ack into a bun with many dark raven feathers sticking out from it, the longest perhaps 30 cms or so the smallest 15cm.

It is apparent that she has purposfully not commented JD's remark on not seeing one such as herself for a long time. She goes back to generally observing JD in silence.*
Turning around and reaching down into his pack JD retrieves his flask, standing up he slowly passes the bottle to the lady in front of him.
"Enjoy he says, I must ask, where is one such as yourself traveling to alone in these woods? There are many dangers here that even I do not know of as yet."

Finishing his words JD stands back, keeping an ever watchful eye and ear out for trouble.
*She takes it slowly, and cautiously takes a sip, replaceing the cap on it she hands it back to him. A small whisp of white hair falls onto her face and with a quick flick of her head she moves it away again as she considers her answer.*

"Well..." She begins with that quiet voice " Ive come somewhat ahead of a group I am part of, im more of a distant soul rather than one to travel in large crowds. I find that a lone being offers less threat than a large group, plus I would like to know what we will be greeting before I risk the safty of the group... And I would ask the same question back..."

*She looks about the trees catiously and shifts her weight a little, one hand fiddling with the copper tabard, she casts her gaze back to JD once more.*
Taking note of her nervousness and what she had told him.

He smiles and thanks her with a nod for the return of his drink, taking a long swig from the bottle for himself he comments,"That's better" .

"I am travelling to a camp, these are dangerous times we live in and this camp is a beacon for people wishing safety, it has good food and secure do you not know of the demons that now walk this earth. They are evil and seem almost at times immortal. If you wish so I can guide you to this camp. It would be nice for the company. I am leading the way for others so I do have to leave a visible trail for them."

Turning back he puts the bottle back into his pack, pulling the pack onto his shoulders, picking his bow up he gestures for the lady to follow him. He is unperturbed by the fact she is a dark elf.
