okay just double checked and i cannot find the phys-rep length for 1h or 2h weapons. Are there also hand and a half weapons in the system?
We dont really have weapon skills in this system, as such we dont have limitations on one handed, two handed or hand and a half, basically its use your common sense, normally you can tell by the handle length. But yes,we do alow hand and a half fighting (infact, its how I fight Smile)

thats cool as what is one handed for one person is a hand and a half sword for other people. Is it worth adding a paragraph in the rules to state this and maybe something on safe use as i hate to see people using obviously 2 handed weapons in 1 as its a control issue.

Next questions

Padded armour isnt listed under armour, would it count as fur or leather? or does it depend on the physrep and the ref checking it over?

Is there any difference between wooden weapons and metal ones other than mages cannot use the metal ones?

I did another system which had a similar rule and a lot of wood effect swords appeared as they had the same stats as normal swords just none of the disadvantages.
Well, as we have it at the moment, damage wise a wooden sword (or bone, crystal, obsidion, anything non metal) has the same stats as metal so there is no difference, but its an interesting point for thought, but as it stands now, no, no difference.
As for padded armour, though it would of course somewhat depend on the phys rep, generally speaking it would be Fur armour. As its OC/IC qualities are neerer to Furr than Leather.
And yeah, I think thats a good idea on adding a paragraph to the rules. *prods site mainainance* Tongue

re the swords as we want to keep the system s simple as possible I dot foresee any alterations to the rules re metal/wood swords but plot will confer on the matter Smile
something for plot to consider as well is type of weapons - not wanting to complicate matters - but there may be some worthwhile mentionning of different types of damage - again - very happy to have - hiti, it gets damaged... but fire, for example, works on rift creatures and not a water elemental...[or so we've seemed to notice IC Wink ]
don't want it to slly extremes - ie, a sharpened crystal blade of jhjjhjh can cut a lot better than a blunt sword of geoff... BUT blunt/sharp call? might be useful if attacking certain creatures???
just an idea - please disregard if this tips a cart comewhere...
basic rules are great - simple is good
As there are rules for enchanters, maybe only metal weapons can be enchanted, which is ironic as iron and magic doesnt normally mix. Then the basic rules stay the same but metal weapons get an advantage to balance it out.
Okay I am listening and taking all this on board and will discuss with all those involved in rules etc (which includes you guys/gals too) Smile but, what I want kept in mind is this system was created to encourage families into LRP - the system is geared to be as simple as possible with (hopefully) roleplay over rule play and we want the rules kept simple so that kids and adults alike can understand (and more importantly remember) and use them all properly.

But what I dont want is the game suffering for the adults because of the kids - its a really fine balance we are trying to hit here which is why we love your feedback and thoughts - make sus consider idea's we hadnt or may have missed Smile

Don't worry all. I'm back from one very cold but very excellent larp in Scotland (on the side of a dam mountain no less) and all this will be seen to. We are due to have a ref team meet this weekend (they are all going larping apart from me 1st Sad ) I am sure we can work everything out then.
