our events held?
Thorrington Scout camp in Thorrington Essex.
What facilities
are there?
The site boasts 27 acres of woodland. There are numerous camping areas dotted
about the woodland. Toilets and showers are on site.
Indoor accommodation consists of bunks in dorms or rooms depending on which
building is used.
Can I camp
instead of using the indoor accommodation?
Yes, you can - let us know when you book so we can allocate you a space - do
remember that some events will be in the winter and you will need to take this
into consideration when camping.
What about food?
You can choose the catered option for the event - this will provide you with a
cooked meal on Friday and Saturday evening. Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday
morning and Lunches on Saturday and Sunday.
An example breakfast would be porridge with topping and Sausage or bacon in a
roll.
An example lunch would be hot soup and rolls or pita bread with a choice of
fillings
An example evening meal would be a casserole or such dish as shepherds pie etc.
Drinks such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and squash will also be included in
the catered option as well as snacks of fruit, crisps and biscuits.
I
am a vegetarian can you cater for me?
Let us know and we will advice what we can offer you as an alternate.
Can children
participate?
YES! We are a family friendly group and as such children have
pivotal roles within the system. All children must be accompanied by a paying
adult.
I am 15 can I
come alone?
Unfortunately not - you will require a paying adult to accompany you.
I
have a replica sword can I bring it?
Not if its not a LARP weapon LARP weapons are constructed from foam and covered
by latex for an example of a Latex weapons you can take a look at them at
LRP Store- all weapons will be checked prior to being used - only LARP safe
weapons can be used.
